Reading to Learn

At our school, reading has always been central to language learning. Different KLAs, particularly the Chinese and English KLAs, collaborate with the library to promote reading various activities both inside and outside the classrooms. We have a tradition of reading English fiction, which has fostered a strong reading culture among our students. Building on this foundation, our focus has expanded to encourage reading across the curriculum. Students are encouraged to explore subject-related non-fiction in addition to novels and classics.

We adopt a whole-school approach with a range of reading programs to increase students' interest in reading, including:

  • Teachers' Sharing
  • Students' Sharing
  • Annual Book Fair
  • Subject-based book exhibitions
